WHAT did you think of Nottingham Panthers' illegal stick call against Cardiff Devils last Sunday.
Was it a cheap shot - or a professional move to be applauded?
There is an unofficial agreement between Elite League coaches that they won't ask for stick measures on that make of stick.
The width is exact to the legal requirement - and when tape is put on the width is a fraction over. All clubs use that make of stick - and they are expensive to shave down slightly.
Nottingham's Mike Ellis made the call against his opposite number, player-coach Gerad Adams, and handed Nottingham a powerplay for the last 90 seconds.
"It was a desperate call, a desperate measure," said Adams. "I was disappointed because coaches have agreed not to do that.
"I have already chatted to Dave Matsos about this weekend and we have agreed it will not happen during the semi-final."
The move didn't work because Nottingham could not find an equaliser even with a 6 v 4 powerplay (Panthers also pulled their goalie) and went out.
What do you think? Were Panthers right - or wrong?
